New Show Location for 2011

“2010 International Fly Tackle Dealer trade show planning is going well for the September 9 – 11 show” said Randi Swisher, President of AFFTA.  Swisher has also committed that in 2011, the IFTD show site will be much different from before.  According to Swisher, “as far as I’m concerned, there are no sacred cows pertaining to the IFTD show.  The Nielsen produced shows accomplished what Nielsen had intended, but our shows will address the needs of the fly-fishing industry and community.  For 2011, our show will be somewhere east of the Mississippi River and the show dates will be somewhere between early August and the end of September.  I will insist that our show venue be near a major airport and in close proximity to hotels, restaurants, and entertainment.  Hopefully, I can obtain great $99 hotel room rates like we did in Denver this year.  Lastly, I cannot make any promises, but I am definitely seeking a venue where move-in and move-out labor expenses will be less than Denver.

AFFTA hopes to have a show venue contract signed and notify the industry of the show location and dates by mid-summer.
