Greater Philadelphia Outdoor Sportshow

December 02, 2009

The American Sportfishing Association (ASA) has added a fourth show to its East Coast-based fishing, hunting and outdoor shows. The Greater Philadelphia Outdoor Sportshow will take place February 25−28, 2010 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks, a short drive from downtown Philadelphia.

ASA, under its consumer-show management company, ASA/Eastern Fishing & Outdoor Exposition, is a leader in consumer-show management in the Eastern United States, showcasing fishing, hunting and other outdoor sports for enthusiasts.

The new show will serve the more than six million fishing, hunting and outdoor sports enthusiasts who live in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware region.

“Since the Expo Center in Fort Washington closed the outdoor enthusiast market has been without a proper venue to see the latest and greatest in outdoor gear and accessories,” said Show Director Jonathan Sauers. “In particular, we are very proud to announce the addition of a special fly fishing section. We expect this will appeal to a broad audience of people looking to improve their skills or discover what fly fishing is all about.”

Fly fishing guides, fly tying experts and manufacturers, including Redington, Rio, Sage, St. Croix, Temple Fork Outfitters and Shimano American plus many others, will be exhibiting at the show.

The size of the Expo Center at Oaks allows for the construction of a casting pool giving everyone a chance to try out their casting skills. Lefty Kreh, a legend in fly fishing, will be at the show on Friday, February 26, demonstrating how to make the perfect cast. Fly tying legend Bob Clouser will also be there to demonstrate how to create his famous Clouser Minnow.
